Pockets to go

This is a new pattern from Terri Atkinson- called Pockets to Go. I just finished it today.
It comes in 2 sizes, a square size and a rectangle size. This is the rectangle. I think it would be great inside a tote bag or a purse, to organize all of my stuff! It has 2 zippered pockets, plus lots of inside pockets. It is nice and stiff as you put Peltex inside the bottom and sides.
We are going to be offering this as a class in our next schedule. We do have the pattern at the shop!

We have a few openings left in our Beginners class that starts next Saturday June 5th from 2-4. The class runs for 3 weeks, but in that time you learn basic cutting and piecing skills. Do you know someone who always wanted to learn to quilt? Or, do you need a refresher course on your skills? Do your seams never seem to match? Is your cutting a little shaky? Well, then this is the class for you. Lois will guide you and teach you exactly how to cut and how to piece. If you are interested, or you know someone who is, ( it's more fun to take the class with a friend), please call us ASAP-

time to swap the blocks.....

I quickly cut and sewed them together.... ( it really doesn't take that long). I got them over to the Quilt Shop. When I was there, I saw Lois working on the next Blockswapper quilt. If you love color, you will love this quilt. I'll post pictures soon. The next round of Blockswappers will be explained on June 5th. Call the store today if you want to come. If you haven't done Blockswappers yet, this is a great time to start. You get lots of great blocks and it really takes very little time!


Things have settled down again, and then I remembered..... I forgot to make my May blocks for Blockswappers....

Ginny just finished making these wonderful floor cushions from the Amy Butler Software. They would be great for a family room, or a first apartment.
We have the software in stock, plus lots of great fabrics to choose from.

This is my new Tumbler Celebration jacket. I used the small tumbler die from the large Studio Accuquilt cutter at the store. This is from a fat quarter pack that I had, I just cut every piece up into the small tumbler shape, then sewed them together into mini quilts. Once they were quilted, I washed and dried them, then cut out my jacket pieces, sewed them together, added a binding and I am done! Well, not really. I'm thinking about adding buttons... and of course, can I find 4 buttons the same... NO!
Who says all the buttons have to be the same? Hmmmmmmm

fastest project ever

It is such an awful day, rainy, cold and just dreary. I went into my sewing room with no particular project in mind. I found this pattern that has been waiting for me to try it! I grabbed two Kaffe Fasset scraps and a zipper, and I was in business. This little pouch took me 30 minutes, from cutting to last seam. I'm anxious to try another one.

This fabric arrived on Friday morning. By the end of Saturday, there is just about a yard and a half on the bolt left. Everyone loves this fabric. We will try to get it again!
Don't worry, we got quite a few new bolts in this week. Look how nice these are... They work great with the Kaffe Fasset fabrics. These are new fabrics by Alexander Henry!
