oh no, what rhymes with serger?

Ok, berger, lerger, perger?
Oh my!
Santa was watching the news,
hearing about the latest mergers....
I know he thought, my quilter friends need to try a
SERGER....

BERNINA has a some great sergers available now. You would be amazed at how often you will use it.
Have you been making bags, purses, totes? Sergers are a great way to clean finish the edges on the inside.
If you ever make drapes or curtains, sergers make it go so much faster.
Mine gets a workout in December during my holiday sewing rush!
Come in to see us and try one out. They aren't hard to use at all!

Santa is looking for a tropical paradise

" Oh my" said Santa, it is just too cold.
This cold makes me feel just so old.
I want sun, warm and bright
I want to lay on a beach until it is night.
Santa finds fabrics to make him feel a bit more "jally"
He found our fat quarters of fabrics from Bali...

Now wouldn't these fabrics look great in a quilt,
wrap yourself up on a cold winters day!

on the hunt for milk

So Santa got thirsty as he went through the store....
As he walked around and looked in each door...
He cried... "oh where are my cookies and milk?"
All I can find is the quilt made of silk....

Santa has good taste... he found our silk quilt kits.
Do you know a quilter who would love one of these? Or would you like one from Santa?
Stop in soon to get yours!

Twas the month before Christmas

Twas the month before Christmas and all through the shop....
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mop, ( hey, it rhymes)
When what do my wondering eyes should appear....
A jolly old man who said " never fear"
I know what quilters all over the world need
Their creativity is what I will feed....
Let's see what I can find in this pretty place...
I wont need just one, I will need a case..

So Santa came in our sunny front door.....
"What can I find in this happy store?"

Stay tuned.....

Our bathroom

I had a giggle yesterday. We had a lovely group of 4 friends who came to visit us for the first time. I was putting away bolts when I saw all 4 of them troop into the bathroom. The comments were, " wow, look at that, this is the nicest bathroom I've ever seen". It happens daily. People love to see what quilts or wall hangings are in our bathroom. In case you haven't seen it, here is a glimpse of our bathroom.
Better yet come see us in person! If you think our bathroom is pretty, wait till you see the store!

Here he comes

There is no ignoring it... the holiday season is coming.
Did you start your list? Not your shopping list, your sewing list.
How many of your gifts can you make yourself?
I try to make gifts for all the people I work with.
I pretty much set up an assembly line in my sewing room.
You don't have to make everyone a quilt, but you can make lots of tote bags, lunch bags, cloth napkins and table runners, placemats,
pillowcases, pillows, etc etc etc. Need some ideas... Visit Sew Mama Sew..... during the month of November they list wonderful gifts to make for lots of different people, children, teens, tweens, and many more.... Then come visit the Quilt Shop to get the supplies you will need. By the way... is Santa going to bring you a new Bernina this year? We have some great gift with purchases coming up! Stay tuned

The colors of fall

Lately, I've been noticing the colors that are left on the trees, or the colors that are now on the ground. So many golds, oranges, browns, reds, and the way they all blend together.
This is Terry Atkinson's new pattern- Four Square Farmhouse
Last Wednesday night as I waited for my machine quilting class to start, I found this pattern at the Quilt Shop. I went right back to the batiks, I found 6 darks and 6 light fat quarters. On Saturday I cut all my pieces and sewed my 6 light blocks, today I sewed my 6 dark blocks and put my quilt together.
This is my version. I made the smallest one, the wall size which is just the right size for my aunt who is now in a wheelchair.
It would also make a great table quilt for a small table for Thanksgiving!
This pattern was easy to do, just strips, cut into rectangles and squares. Start this week, you can have yours done for Thanksgiving!
